RESPOND aim to produce the knowledge necessary to overcome health system barriers, and to establish optimal management of hypertension among poor and vulnerable households in Malaysia and the Philippines.

Reaching for a dream

As told through the life of a single mother who also represents the plight of community healthcare workers and patients, economic and social pressures are juxtaposed with the gaps in the local health system.

PV workshop

Through a 4-day participatory video workshop, members of an island community learned how to capture their unique narratives on hypertension and non-communicable diseases – highlighting the lack of local health facilities as one of the main barriers in accessing healthcare.
