Dato Khalid is a Professor of Medicine and Senior Consultant Cardiologist, Vice-Chancellor and President of UCSI University. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, the three Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) and the American College of Cardiology; Council Member of the College of Physicians of Malaysia, Malaysian Society of Hypertension and the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia; he serves on the National Science Council and represented Malaysia on the Global Research Council.. He is a National Leader for research projects such as the Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiological Study, COMPASS and HOPE-4. Widely published, he has received many awards including the Gold Medal (Royal College of Physicians of London), Albert Schweitzer Gold Medal (World Academy of Medicine), Honorary Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and Honorary Doctor of Medical Sciences from his alma mater, the University of Melbourne.

Fadhlina graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2003, majoring in Microbiology. She has over 10 years of experience and managed several International Clinical Trials and Epidemiological Studies such as PURE, EPOCH, REDISCOVER and HOPE-4. She is passionate about hypertension and cardiovascular diseases with a particular interest in the translation of academic knowledge into public awareness and behavioural change.

 

As the Study Manager and Quantitative Project Manager, Fadhlina manages RESPOND administrative and operational activities of the quantitative section of the project in Malaysia.

Nafiza is a Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and a Family Medicine Specialist at Primary Care Medicine Department of the Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. Nafiza main interests are the adolescent health and the chronic diseases management.

 

As the Lead Investigator, Nafiza provides leadership to RESPOND in Malaysia, and as Quantitative Lead, Nafiza managed RESPOND household survey and facility assessments.

 

Ahmad began his career at the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia in 1973 and obtained a PhD in wastewater engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1978. In 1985, Ahmad won an award to undertake post-doctorate studies at Cornell University (USA) under the Fulbright Hubert Humphrey Program. After his post-doctorate, he held senior leadership positions of for over 10 years in the public and private sector, in which he made contributions to the development of Science & Technology Policies in Malaysia, and also been a prolific columnist for the Malaysian press. Ahmad is currently working as a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the UCSI University, Malaysia.

Mazapuspavina is a PhD Candidate at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She completed a Master Degree in Family Medicine and her first degree in Medicine (Surgery) at the same university. Mazapuspavina has over 10 years of experience as a Family Medicine Specialist, working for the Malaysian Ministry of Health and currently hold the position of Senior Lecturer in Primary Care Medicine at the Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.

She is currently working as Study Management Coordinator in 2 studies, COMPASS and TIPS-3, in collaboration with the Population Health Research Institute at the McMaster University, Canada.

Fauzi received his degree in M.Eng.Sc & B.Eng with Honours from the University of Malaya. He works at UCSI University of Malaysia as a lecturer in the Chemical Engineering department as well as an executive fellow in the SDG office. Fauzi has more than 10 years’ experience in fundamental and application of artificial intelligence. He is also a member of the IEEE-RAS Malaysia Committees, MyPCS society and CETD-IEM.

Khairuddin is an Associate Professor at the Department of Professional Development and Continuing Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His field of specialization is in Organizational Learning and Development. His research interests include Organizational and Community Development. Khairuddin is currently also the head of the Cyber Generation Laboratory at the Institute of Social Science Studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Azlina obtained a PhD degree on the vascular biology project in gestational diabetes at the University of Nottingham UK in 2015, after completing an MSc in Medicine at the Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2010 and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2003. She is currently working as Lecturer in Physiology at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UCSI University, Malaysia. Her main interests are in cardiovascular science, cancer and gerontology research.

Nor Atikah Hashim is an experienced HRD

and Ethics training consultant. She was previously a Senior Lecturer of Quantity Surveying at an international private university in Malaysia. She has almost 17 years of experience combined in 

the professional field, in academia and in research and development. She mainly focused on the qualitative research methodology for her Master and PhD's research. She also has 5 years of experience working as a Project Director for construction projects.

Abd Lateef (Steven) is a Professor of Youth Studies at the Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and a Research Associate at the Institute for Social Science Studies (UPM). He trained in youth development, social work and human resource development and has conducted research on positive youth development, with a focus on the cross-cultural experiences of youth-adult intergenerational partnership. He has also been involved in two health-related studies on the experiences of Muslim cancer patients in Malaysian treatment centres, and oncology nurses’ competency development.
